1) COPA AMAZONAS (same venue as the 2005 World Champs) 27 - 31 Oct; Quijos River, Ecuador.
In general, all is going well with the organization of the events with most energy focussed on the Copa Amazonas 2004 right now. The organizers are very encouraged by the number of teams that have entered and continue working closely with local government authorities in the Quijos valley to ensure the event will be an outstanding success.

Teams that have already sent in their entry forms:

Men's category - Cucupas ECUADOR, RK Troja Praha CZECH, PRSI CZECH/SLOVAKIA, WD WC CZECH, WD Samani CZECH, PROSPORT CZECH, Guamanchi VENEZUELA, TEIKEI JAPAN, Sin Nombre BRAZIL, Sin Nombre ECUADOR

Other teams are still finalising sponsors and travel arrangements.
An agreement has been reached with SOTAR to be the official raft provider for the Copa Amazonas 2004 and the IRF WRC 2005.

2) EURO CUP

3) RAFT RACES
a) Indonesia Open Tournament - Rongkong River, South Sulawesi. Dates: 27 - 30 September. Run according to IRF rules with Sprint, Time Trial and Downriver. Ideal training event for the Australasian teams.

4) GUIDE TRAINING & EDUCATION WORKSHOP
A reminder about the IRF Guide Training and Education workshop which will be held after the Amazon Cup 2004. Guide and Trip Leader exams will be held in conjunction with the Instructor workshop. Dates: Guide exam Nov 4, Trip Leader exam Nov 4-5, Instructor workshop Nov 4-6. At the same location as for the Amazon Cup.

5) JUDGES WORKSHOP
A judges workshop and exam will be held on Sat 23rd Oct in Ecuador. This will be run by Steve Nomchong and will be run in Spanish and if need be, in English as well. This will be primarily for the locals.

6) NEWSLETTERS
a) No longer want to receive this email? Send reply saying REMOVE!
b) Wim Onderwater who maintains the raft.pagina.nl site can make free (automatic) newsletters which contain news items from all over the world which include the word: "rafting". People can subscribe directly with him and he will send them the newsletter (weekly). They can also subscribe on the website but then they receive the newsletter in dutch (with english and dutch items). No longer available.
c) If you have any newsworthy items you wish to share with us please send an email! Please ensure your subject mentions rafts or something familiar or it may get deleted as spam!
