WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The next World Championships will be held in 2003. There was
insufficient sponsorship to hold it in Tasmania in December as we had
hoped. The location and dates for the Worlds next year is being
decided at present, the BOD is analysing the various bids that we have
received and we will let you know as soon as possible.
CAMEL WHITE WATER CHALLENGE
This event is no longer being held as Camel have pulled out.

Absolute Italian Speed Race Championship
29 – 30 June 2002
Vipiteno (Bolzano) – Isarco River - Italy
This competition is proclaimed by the Italian Rafting
Association (UISP-Coni) and organised by "Rafting Sterzing-Vipiteno".
Those allowed to take part in the competition are the A.I.Raf’s Club,
Company and affiliate Team members.
Foreign teams are also invited to take part in the competition.
This event takes a role in the A.I.Raf’s initiative, organised in the
"Comitato Sport per Tutti"’circle, which takes part of the Italian
Canoe and Kayak Federation.
The race
Absolute Italian Marathon Championship and
Absolute Italian Speed race Championship. titles will be awarded in
sole trial.
Boats and competing team members
Teams are only permitted to use rafts
provided by the organisation (Pulsar 3.80). Competing teams: One raft
for 6 member’s team.
Course
Isarco river from Stilves to Mules
Distances: Marathon 3.5 km; Speed race 1.5km
Difficulty: II-III WW.
Schedule
Saturday 29th June:
From 13h to 14h:
Entry and registration at
the boarding place (Stilves bridge in Vipiteno), training, boats and
safety equipment check-up (life jacket, helmet, throw bag etc…). Rafts
will be at disposal by the boarding during the whole morning.

A.I.Raf registration and affiliation.
To participate to the race and use the boats
given by the organisation team, it’s necessary to be A.I.Raf
registered and be a Club member, or a navigation Company member or an
affiliated team member. It’s not planned to pay a inscription fee
for Team and Club for the 2002 championship. The registration like
a athlete is € 13.00 (per person) and covers the A.I.Raf affiliation
and the UISP insurance. Conditions and documents for the affiliation
and the registration could be requested by the A.I.Raf secretary by
e-mail: airaf@airaf.it
Stranger teams are admitted.
Attention: To participate to the races
planned by A.I.Raf, it’s necessary, at the entry moment, to show a
medical certificate, which will states the athlete is suitable to
practise competitive/amateur sports.

race up to 30 teams.
Applies with the Club/company or Team name, and the athlete list must

Safety rules and A.I.Raf’s sport regulation must be observed by the
competitors.
