FUTALEUFU UNDER ASHES!

Many of us have spent time on the Futaleufu River or in the area itself and have been hooked by its beauty and the excellent 5 star quality of the river. In 2000 the Camel White Water Challenge was held there and those of you who were there and remember dancing until late at night in the sports hall or parading all dressed up (or down!) around the town in the procession will be able to appreciate the fact that the town is thickly covered in ash, the people of the area have had to evacuate, many animals have died and many livelyhoods destroyed.
