Dear Rafting and Sportfriends!

This year the official International Austrian Rafting Competition and part of the European Cup will take place on the river Salza in Styria at the weekend from 7th-10th May 2009 . The event is an official competition of the Austrian Canoe Association OKV (Österreichischer Kanuverband).

The championship organiser Sportklub Wildalpen invites all Rafting friends to this event.

Both categories R4 and R6 will be organised at this championship and the results are part of the European Cup 2009.

This race is a perfect possibility of comparison with other European teams and also a perfect training for the World Rafting Championship 2009.

It is a pleasure for us that the teams from Brazil and Chile will attend to the race.

Because of the viability of rooms we request you to contact the tourism office as soon as possible (tourismus@wildalpen.at).

The raft boots are provided by the organizer. For your questions, please contact us per e-mail.

Liebe Rafting  und Sportfreunde!

Heuer finden zum 7-mal die offiziellen Österreichischen Raftingmeisterschaften, im Rahmen des Österreichischen Kanuverbandes OKV auf der Salza/Steiermark statt. Der Sportklub Wildalpen / Sektion Paddeln veranstaltet diesen Event vom 7.-10. Mai 2009 in Wildalpen und lädt alle Rafting- und Sportinteressierten dazu herzlich ein. Die Boote werden vom Veranstalter zur Verfügung gestellt.

Wir ersuchen Mannschaften und Teilnehmer die nicht beim OKV registriert sind, sich bis zum Nennschluss beim Veranstalter zu melden.

Da nur eine eingeschränkte Zimmeranzahl zur Verfügung steht, ersuchen wir die Mannschaften den Tourismusverband zu kontaktieren (tourismus@wildalpen.at). Weiter Informationen sind unter www.raftingsport.com abrufbar. Für weitere Fragen kontaktiert uns per E-Mail.

The Chinese Water Sports Administration will be runnning two R2 events in 2009 - 

July 9th - 13th: Dujiangyan City of Sichuan Province in southwest of China

July 15th - 20th: Geermu of Qinghai Province in northwest of China

The race will be in a 2 person raft, down river competitions. 

We will invite 6 to 8 foreign teams with each team of 2 members and some Chinese teams to participate in the competition.

NEPAL

We kindly would like to inform you that our Natiniol Championship date has been posponed to conduct on Nation Wide  a week long Sports Festivals orginzed by National Sports Concil in April.

To develop  the rafting as water sports in nepal and bring in to new hight in Nepal socieaty  we decided to join in National Sports Council.

We apologise for changing the date . for your  suggestion and comments which would be plus in put to make it happen more better.

 

(At the same time would like to inforom you that we nepal is invited to take participation in the World Rafting Championship on May 17 th to 24th 2009 in Bosnia Herzgovina.)

           Nationals - ASCI Whitewater Park in McHenry Maryland August 14th-16th

14th, Friday, will be an "exhibition" (no points go toward the USRA Champion(s) race on the Upper Yak.

The 15th ~9am = the R4 (that's right, all events are R4 to qualify for the Netherlands) at the whitewater park.

The 15th ~ 5pm will be the slalom.

The 16th will be the downriver on the Lower Yak.

Locally, ORT is gearing up for the Upper Wind Festival March 21-22, with a Freaky Friday the 13th warm-up at Madisons in Portland March 13th.

A valid CPR and first aid on august 7, 2008,

A minimum of 20 river days on a class IV section.

DENMARK

Danish Rafting Championship 2003

The first Danish Rafting Championship will take place on the 25^th of June 2003. The rafting competition Open Scandinavian Rafting Champs at this year Extreemsportsweek at Voss in Norway (www.ekstremsportveko.com) will count as the Danish Rafting Championship 2003. The best Danish team will be selected to represent Team Denmark for the upcoming IRF World Rafting Championships 2003.

The event is a combined Slalom and Downriver competition. Approximately 2 km (class 3-4) with slalom gates and 4 km (class 3-4) clean downriver run, totalling 6 km.
